Taccia

The Taccia is a true classic within the Flos collection and has been in production since 1962. On the inside of the hand-blown sphere is a metal reflector with a shiny white top layer which diffuses impressive indirect light. The impressive body of the lamp is unique in shape and available in various colours. This body rests on a polished, nickel-plated steel base plate.

Achille Castiglioni

Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002 Milaan) studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan. After graduating in 1944 he and his brothers Pier Giacomo (1913-1968) and Livo (1911-1979) founded a design bureau. There, Castiglioni started exploring shapes, techniques and new materials aimed at developing an integral design process. Castiglioni also taught at the Polytechnic University of Turin and later became a professor of architectural and design subjects at the Politecnico di Milano. His designs have become classics and are rewarded with national and international awards. He received the Compasso d’Oro nine times.
